Adrienne J. Martin

Mrs. Martin's final place of rest is located at Sunset Hill III, A-13, Space 1. Adrienne J. Martin, age 88 of Demorest, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born on May 18, 1924, in Antwerp, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Basilius and Maria Rosiers VanMiegham. She retired from North Georgia Technical College with 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed cooking and playing cards with her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Martin and a sister, Helene VanMeighem. Survivors include son, Hubert Martin of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Shirley Martin of Cornelia; grandchildren, Melisa Queen (James) and Cheryl Smith (Larry); great grandchildren, Leah Queen and Jack Stewart (Amanda); great-great granddaughter, Lillian Stewart; sister, Josephine VanMeighem of Antwerp, Belgium. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Tuesday.
