Mrs. Dill's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance II, A-12, Space 3. MRS. BLONDELL KNIGHT DILL, affectionately known as "Granny", of Mt. Airy, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. She was 90 years old. Mrs. Dill was born on July 9, 1921, in Lancaster, South Carolina; a daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Jincy Rogers Knight. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dill, Sr. Mrs. Dill was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, and granny. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Jimmy Tench, Alto, GA, Patricia and Hillard Garrett, Emmie Lou and Glen Davis, and Diane and Kerry Cash, all of Mt. Airy, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph, Jr. "Pinky" and Susan Dill, Jacksonville, FL and Steve and Donna Dill, Toccoa, GA; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; special neighbor and friend, Mary Hamel, Mt. Airy, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Jerry Mize and Rev. Gerald Bennett officiating.
