G.C. Burrell

Mr. Burrell's final place of rest is located at Garden of Yonah I, D-11, Space 2. G. C. Burrell, Jr., age 94, of Clarkesville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at The Oaks at Scenic View. Born in White County, GA on May 29, 1916, he was the son of the late Grover C. and Tattie Lenore Stamey Burrell. Mr. Burrell was a long-time member of Clarkesville Baptist Church and the Clarkesville Masonic Lodge #325 F&AM.For many years, he owned and operated Burrell’s Barbershop in Clarkesville. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Louise Paschal Burrell of Clarkesville, son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sandra Burrell of Resaca, GA; daughter, Gloria Jean Hopkins of San Antonio, TX and fiancé/dear family friend, W.M. Gilbert; sister, Martha Eaton; three grandchildren, Christopher Hopkins, Stephanie Cochran and Brandon Burrell; five great grandchildren. Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
