Mr. Harrelson's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, L-4, Space 1. James Edward Harrelson, age 50, of Alto, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born on August 23, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of Irma Joyce Strickland Harrelson and the late Marshall Owen Harrelson. Mr. Harrelson was formerly a self-employed painter as well as produce manager for Ingles, Kay-Way and Piggly Wiggly. He attended Clarkesville Church of God and enjoyed fishing, hunting, water skiing, boating, camping and other outdoor activities. Survivors include wife, Elizabeth Dodd Harrelson of Alto; sons, James Chadrick Harrelson and Bradley Shawn Harrelson both of Alto; daughter, Tara Beth Harrelson of Alto; step son, Kaden Alexander James Crocker of Alto; grandchildren, Jade McKenzie Harrelson and Colston Bradley Harrelson; sister, Brenda Joyce Harrelson of Demorest; brothers, Marshall Darrin Harrelson of Clarkesville and Richard Owen Harrelson of Alto; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday. An online guest register is available and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandstewart.com.
