Mrs. Lattanzi's final place of rest is located at Garden of Honor, I-24, Space 3. Peggy Joyce Oliver Lattanzi, age 82, formerly of Smyrna and currently of Gainesville, Georgia, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, July 20, 2013. Mrs. Lattanzi was a 1948 graduate of Clermont High School, a 1952 graduate of Piedmont College, and received a Masters Degree from Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was employed with Cobb County School system for 30 years. Mrs. Lattanzi was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Clermont, Georgia where she was baptized and married. She was a former member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church where she and her husband raised their children. Mrs. Lattanzi was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, A.D. “Joe” Lattanzi. Peggy enjoyed family, friends, and was honored to be a coach’s wife. Her pride and joy was being Nana to her seven grandchildren, whom she loved with her whole heart. Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Lattanzi of Smyrna, Ricci Lattanzi of Rome, Tony and Jennifer Lattanzi of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and John Skelton of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Joseph Lattanzi, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jenna Lattanzi of Augusta, Sara Skelton of Charlotte, Grey Skelton of Charlotte, Matt Lattanzi of Rome, Reid Lattanzi of Lula, and Olivia Lattanzi of Lula; sister, Maryjane Rowley of Lula; and brother, Lane Oliver of Brevard, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5622 Clarks Bridge Road, Clermont, Georgia with Revs. Jim Mitchell and John Moore officiating. Mrs. Lattanzi will lie in state at 10 A.M. until service time at the Church. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. Interment will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, Georgia.
