Robert Edward Howard

Mr. Howard's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance II, E-6, Space 4.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Edward "Bob" Howard, age 87, of Demorest, Georgia. Mr. Howard passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Mr. Howard was born on August 18, 1939, in Toccoa, Georgia to the late Hubert Howard and Mildred Scoggins Howard.

Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran, after which he attended Piedmont College and University of Georgia where he earned his degree in Engineering. He was a longtime employee of Scovill Manufacturing, after which he retired from Standard Telephone Company with 36 years of service. Bob was an avid golf player, when he wasn't playing he was usually watching it on TV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Howard, Thomas Howard, and sister, Rosette Andrews.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Glenda Howard, of Demorest, daughter, Pamela Howard Heumaneus (Louie) of Cornelia, son, Wayne Howard (April), of Toccoa; sisters, Lynda Davis, of Baldwin; and Delores Drake, of Toccoa. He was also the proud papa to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He also had numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished.

Bob's wishes were for a simple graveside service. The graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Pastor Shane Jenkins officiating. Friends should gather at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of visitation, the family will greet those in attendance following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Habersham County Wall of Honor, P.O. Box 198, Demorest, Georgia 30535.
