Robert Douglas Talley

Mr. Talley's final place of rest is located at Garden of Remembrance II, D-4, Space 2. Mr. Robert Douglas Talley, age 69, of Clarkesville, GA passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in Macon County, North Carolina on July 28, 1940, he was the son of the late Douglas and Belle Brooks Talley. Mr. Talley worked in the Textile Industry for over 33 years with the Habersham Mills Corporation, having perfect attendance for the last 9 of those years. He was a member of the Taylor's Chapel Baptist Church in Mountain City, Georgia and was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Frances Chastain, nephew, Marcus Lee Chastain, and brother-in-law, Andy Switalski. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Pauline Chastain Talley, Clarkesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Crissy Charlyne and Nathan Manley, Cornelia, GA; daughter and fiance', April Pauline Talley and Jerod Panion, Sugar Hill, GA; sister-in-law, Anne Switalski, St. Pertersburg, FL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Emma Effene and Ronnie Dills, Clarkesville, GA, Thelma and Michael Shook, Cleveland, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marcus "Pete" and Sue Chastain, Perry and Charlene Chastain all of Clarkesville, GA; step-brother, Carlton Owens, Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Colton Nathaniel and Hanna Cristine Manley, both of Cornelia, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA. The Rev. Chad Shook will officiate. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the North Chapel in Demorest from 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
