fMrs. Cook's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, P-7, Space 3. Sarah Mae Cook, age 82 of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, March 06, 2012, in North Carolina. Born in Burlington, NC, on October 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Rosa Enoch Pennix. Mrs. Cook was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a retired teacher with Habersham County School System. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland Cook. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Roland and Queenie Cook of Demorest and Tony and Diane Cook of Cornelia; brothers, Larry Pennix of Durham, NC and Lee Pennix of Burlington, NC; sisters, Nora Jordan, Sherdian Holt, and Evanelle Pennix all of Burlington, NC. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bishop Ernest Burns officiating. Mrs. Cook will lie in state from 12 noon until the service hour on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
