Mrs. Cornthwaite's final place of rest is at Sunset Hill I, H-16, Space 3. VERA JONES CORNTHWAITE, age 87, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Cornthwaite was born on May 1, 1921 in Aylesbury, England to the late Thomas and Emily Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Tommy and George Jones. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force of England. Mrs. Cornthwaite was of the Episcopalian faith and was a homemaker. Survivors include: her husband: David Cornthwaite, Mt. Airy, GA; her daughters: Anne Hobby, Tifton, GA; Jill Collins, Ft. Worth, TX; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. James A. Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
