Mr. Fain's final place of rest is located at Garden of Devotion I, E-6, Space 2. WILLIAM L. FAIN, age 67, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Fain was born on December 19, 1943, in White County, Georgia, to the late Thomas and Louvine Adams Fain. He proudly served his country for 6 years in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was the former owner of William L. Fain Builders, served 8 years with Georgia Industrial Institute, served 17 years with the Habersham County Sheriff's Department, and then from 1999-2004 he worked with the Clarkesville Police Department. He was also an owner and operator of a poultry and cattle farm. Mr. Fain was a member of Friendly Mission Baptist Church, a member of The Cornelia Masonic Lodge No: 92 F and A.M., and a member of the Mountaineer Shrine Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Jackie Thomas Fain, Demorest, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Danny Shook, Demorest, GA and Leslie and Russell Caufman, Demorest, GA; sisters, Opal Beavers, Doraville, GA, Helen Anderson, Cleveland, GA, Pearl Alexander, Cleveland, GA, and Linda Stewart, Tucker, GA; brothers, Thomas Fain, Jr., Demorest, GA, Herbert Fain, Cleveland, GA, and Watson Fain, Duluth, GA; and grandchildren, Kelsey and Madison Shook, Demorest, GA and Hannah Caufman, Demorest, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Devin O'Kelly, Rev. Henry Loggins, and Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with police honors provided.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Friendly Mission Baptist Church, 184 Friendly Mission Lane, Cornelia, Georgia, 30531 or to the American Lung Association of Georgia, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, Georgia 30080.
