William "Billy" Long

final place of rest is located at Garden of Mr. William Clifton “Billy” Long, Jr, age 58, of Cornelia, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home. Born November 13, 1953 in Hall County, he was the son of Dorothy (Irvin) Long and the late William Clifton Long, Sr. He was a Security Guard at Mt. Vernon Mills. Mr. Long was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ray Clifton Long & Wayne Long. He is survived by his mother: Dorothy (Irvin) Long of Cornelia; son: Curtis William Long of Cornelia; brothers: Bobby Long of Alto & Dale Irvin of Dahlonega; sisters: Elaine Canady of Toccoa, Doris Batson of Banks County, & Teresa Wade of Toccoa; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Glory Bound Baptist Church in Alto with Rev. Steve Ford and Rev. Mickey Umbehant officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Cemetery Arrangements have been entrusted to Yonah Memorial Gardens at 255 Central Avenue, Demorest, Ga. 30535.
